What is Melocosm?
Melocosm is a personal project for I aim to share the best music I can find on streaming platforms such as Youtube, Spotify or Deezer, through playlists representing various themes, ambiances or moods. Each playlist is available for streaming, and contains a full description (written in french, but there’s an automatic translate button at the bottom of every page) of what you’re about to listen. A hashtag system (in english) allows you to navigate between playlists sharing the same type of content. Feel free to share those playlists on social media or among your friends!
Melocosm comes from « mélomane » (a french word used to describe someone really into music) and « microcosm », because each playlist is conceptualized as a musical microcosm. A lot of them are related to science-fictional universes or ambiances, but not only. You’ll find something to listen for such simple things as rainy days, summer heat, being high, blooming trees during spring time, sex, big cities, laziness, breakups, strolls, sailing trips, etc. A large range of musical genres are composing the playlists, from hip hop to ambient, from techno to pop, from heavy metal to avant-garde electronic, from house to funk, from jazz to drum and bass. No musical boundaries apply here, as long as it follows the spirit of the playlist.
